Insurance

The Quebec Medicare system does not cover the fees for private mental healthcare services, however most health insurance companies provide coverage for the services rendered by HumaNexus associates. Our healthcare specialists are licensed by their Provincial Professional Orders, which permit them to issue tax-deductible receipts. It is recommended that you consult with the professional to whom you were referred and discuss the fees as well as any reimbursement process to which you may have access. Contact your insurance company to determine the answers to these questions:

So a plan may stipulate that it will pay 80% of each session fee to a maximum of $200 per session to a maximum of $1500 per calendar year.
Fees

Psychotherapy and most other services are billed by the hour.

The typical psychotherapy hour is 50-55 minutes.

Fees range from $140 to $320 per session with most associates charging $150-180 per session. There is the possibility to pay only $100 per session if you are treated by a Ph.D. doctoral student who is supervised by Dr. Adler.

The fees are established according to a number of factors, including expertise and reputation. Be assured that every associate is an expert in their respective domains of specialization.

Fees for assessment services (e.g., neuropsychological, psycho-legal, psycho-educational) vary depending on the diagnostic question(s) and the age of the client but are typically billed with set fees for the groups of tests administered and the time to interpret the results and produce and present the written report. Services provided to businesses and organizations may be billed hourly or with a contracted price set for the entire service.

Payment is accepted in the form of cheques, cash or INTERAC e-transfer at the end of every session. We do not accept credit or debit card payments at this time.
Referrals

You do not need a referral to access the services of HumaNexus professionals. However, please check with your insurance company to see if it requires a physician's referral.

All offices of HumaNexus associates are accessible by those with reduced mobility or physical disabilities.
What happens if I do not get along with my therapist?

The significant predictor of therapeutic success is the alliance formed between the client and the therapist. If you do not feel that your therapist is the right person to help you, let us know. We will be happy to refer you to another HumaNexus associate or one at another facility. Finding you the best care is our priority.
How long will I have to wait for an appointment?

We will typically respond to your first phone call or message/email within 12 hours to conduct a telephone interview. A HumaNexus associate whose expertise is the right match for your needs will contact you in a confidential manner typically within 48 hours. Usually you will have your initial assessment appointment within the week following your first contact with us.
